TierOne
A third-party GroupMe client for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch.
TierOne reads and writes your GroupMe conversations using GroupMe's own API. It is a personal project, currently in private testing — there is no public download.
What it does
- Conversations, replies, reactions, polls and shared media
- GIF search that actually finds things
- Native apps on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch
- Editing your own messages, and opening file attachments in Quick Look
What it does not do
- Push notifications. Those belong to the official app, and there is no way around that. Keep GroupMe installed for alerts.
- Send direct messages. GroupMe withdrew that from the API in June 2025. DMs are readable but not writable.
- Collect anything about you. No servers, no analytics, no tracking — see the privacy policy.
Testing
Test builds are distributed through TestFlight by invitation. If you were sent a link, it came from Chris.
